Saturday, April 5th[1986]
Yesterday’s walk was a mistake; pain + lameness returned—a need to crutch to get around house. Continued Faulkner; about two-thirds through.
Watched old black-+-white movie; Maugham’s“Quartet,” which I remember from back in the 50’s; all four tales rather amusing, but only the kite segment was really good. Horror movie followed—all but unwatchable; I fell asleep about midway.(Reception at Joe + Carolyn McCarn’s for two busloads of doctors here at convention; stay from 6:15 to about 7:30.)
