Columbia; breakfast in Ramada dining room. Left for airport at 11 o'clock; took off at noon. Two hour layover in Atlanta; Memphis by 3:45. Glad to be home. House in good shape; likewise Booker and all the cats.

Cereal dinner; bed by 10; Asleep by 10:30. Enough travel to hold me for a while. Read one hundred pages (about one third) of Melville's Redburn, going and coming back on airplane. Slow reading, mostly dull, with occasional foresights of Moby-Dick, but alas they were few and far between.

Dr. Trent Wilson 3:30 Tuesday, April 15th[1986] Continued straightening, this time my desk—a far more complicated + arduous job. In afternoon, drove out east to have oral surgeon Trent Wilson remove the stitches he put in after last week’s Biopsy. Painless. Afterwards he told me about the condition disclosed; something called dysplacia (among other things) which requires frequent examination to watch for changes that might signal cancer + the need for oral surgery--not by him but by a medical surgeon. I got a copy of the biopsy to take from him to Ochsner (whenever my foot gets able to manage a treadmill) or to someone here in town.
