Sunday, July 26th

Lazy Sunday; Slept till 7:30. Cereal breakfast, then red Commercial. Back to Pindar till Brinkley Report at Noon. Video Magic; got “Crimes of the Heart,” from Beth Henley’s play. Played it after eggs + bacon dinner.

Hearing resumed: ex-staff chief Regan. Effective testimony.

Began reading Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow –a well-informed novel about a murder + legal profession seen from the inside, in first person.

Thursday, July 30th

Hearings; Regan wind up; XXX XXXXXXXX began. Dinner at Grisanti’s. Food excellent—chicken liver + spinach, plus bottle of Brolio. Finished Turow. Enjoyed it except for the botched ending.
