May 5th Month 1945

Quite nice da. Bill went into [

6 Rogation Sun-5th after Easter
Did not
feel well in morning so stayed at home
and did H.W. Went to S. School in afternoon
Went to chapel in evening. Daddy & [
] Betty Lionel
and George came to supper. Went to bed early

Lovely Day. Surrender of all Germany [
]
1 Mon-Bank Holiday (Scotland)
Rogation Day Did not go to school
as did not feel well. Went out hoeing
in morning. Washed up & did some more
hoeing in afternoon. Copied some notes
up in evening. Went to bed quite
early.

VICTORY IN EUROPE DAY

8 Tues-Rogation Day Felt ill all
day. Drove the tractor for Daddy
in morning & afternoon. Went with
Daddy & Gordon to Mr Constables to
tea. Afterwards went to service taken by
Daddy & Gordon with Walter. G. told
me he loved me. Lovely day.

Nie day. Drove the tractor for
9 Wed-Rogation Day Gordon all the
morning and afternoon. We had a
big party in evening. I enjoyed it
