This day commences with Light airs and rain at N E
middle part calm and cloudy Latter part Light
Breeses from the East and N East and thick weather
sent down the cutting pennants unbent the
fore top sail and bent another one Lat by obs 38 – 10

Friday February 7th
First part of these 24 hours strong winds at
N by East at 7 PM put 2 reefs in the top sails
at 8 move ship [to N East (strikethrough)] E by N at 9 PM flushed
the fore and misen top sails middle part strong
winds and rain Latter part the wind at N W by N
and a Large swell set the fore and misen top sails
Lat by a bad obs 37 – 31 Long 39 – 20

Saturday February 8th “ 1823
First part strong winds and squaly at N West
at 10 PM strong winds and Bad sea find the fore
and misen top sails middle part the wind hauls
to the West Latter part fresh winds at S W by W
set double reefed top sails stear N East
