breezes from N W all hands Employd in Coopering the
oil in the main Hatch betwixt decks finished all of the
oil betwixt decks and Stowed the bone Saw nothing So Ends
this 24 hours No Obs Lat N Long W

Satuday the 20 Jan 1849

These 24 hours Commences with fine breezes from the
W N W Steering E by S with all Sail Set midle part
fine breezes from the W Latter part the wind from
the South Steering E by S took in the main Royal
and Top mast Studing Sail Employd in making a
Top mast Studing Sail Boom out of a Top Galient
yard and bent the best main Top Sail Saw nothing
So Ends this 24 hours Lat 45. 57 S Long 141. 01 W

the S Steering E by S under Top Galient Sail
midle part light breezes and Calms Latter part fine breezes
from the W Steering the Same Set the main Royal
Top mast and Lower Studing Sail Saw nothing

Monday the 22 Jan 1849

These 24 hours Commences with fine breezes from
the W Steering E by S with all Sail Set midle
part fresh Gales took in the Studing Sails Top Galient
Sails parted the Leach rope to the Fore Top Sail took
it in Latter part Close reefed the main Top Sail with thick
rainy weather Saw nothing So Ends this day Lat 47. 06

Tuesday the 23 Jan 1849

These 24 hours Commences with fresh Gales from
the W S W Steering E by S under a Close reefed main
Top Sail and Fore Sail at 2 O Clock P. M turned
two reefs out of the main Top Sail and Set the
main Top Galient Sail mended the leach rope to
the Fore Top Sail and Set it double reefed midle
part Set the Fore Top Galient Sail over a Single
reefed Fore Top Sail at 5 O Clock in the morning
took in the Top Galient Sails with Strong Gales
and heavy Squals frm the S. W Latter part of
the Same Employd in Ships duty Saw nothing
So Ends this 24 hours Lat by Obs 47. 27 South
