The day began with a light breeze from
the N E ward at 6 in the morning
Set Top Sails & steered N W soon raised
whales lored [lowered]struck & killed one that
sunk latter part thick fog & rain
saw a number of whales & chased several
times in [course] of the day but got
none Stowed down 60 brls [barrels] oil in the
after harch as sun set took in sails
and heeded [headed] to the W ward so remains
no Observations Lat [Latitude] 30:02 per count
Long [Longitude] 2.00 west

Friday the 27th

Began with light airs from the N ward
and thick fog saw a plenty of whales
lored [lowered] & chased in the fog middle &
latter part fresh winds weather very
thick set our Top Sails doubled reefed
Employed in chaseing wilde [chasing wild] whales
but without success at sun set
furled Top Sails & [headed] to the Sth W
so remains Lat [Latitude] 39:05 per count
Long [Longitude] 2.00

Saturday the 28th

Through this day the wind blows strong
from the N ward at 6 in the morning
Set Top Sails & steered to the E ward
by thhe wind but saw nothing at
1 o clock wore ship & steered to the W ward
hand employed in fitting wheepender
and takles [tackles] at sun set furled Top
sails & lay by So remains Lat [Latitude]
