winds from S by E. by the wind heading
E by S. weather plesant.

Tuesday Dec 13th

First part wind S by E. by the wind
heading E by S. at 7 AM tacked ship
heading SW by W. Mid part much the
same. employed on ship duty. Latter part
much the same. so ends.

Wednesday Dec 14th

First and mid part good breeze from SE.
all sail set. steering by the wind. ship
heading SSW. at 3 PM saw the Island
of Whytootacke bearing S. Latter part came
up with and passed it. so ends in
Latt 18"56 S Long 159"45

Friday Dec 16th

First and mid part good breeze from
SE. saw the Island of Roratongo bearing
E. by the wind tack and tack trying to
get up to the Island. Latter part
much the same.
