Tuesday July 22ond All of these 24 hours strong gales from the S &. Steer North most of the day with double reefs. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 50°=25" North Long [LONGITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT] 163°=00" East

Wednesday July 23rd Comes in with strong gales from the Southward. Steer North. Three or four hours of the morning saw a great many humpback whales. Latter part steer ESE. Employed at repairing or trying to repair a stoven boat and no one knowing how to do it. So ends the day. Thursday July 24th Fresh gales from the S & W. Steer South Easterly. Saw nothing but Humpers. Spoke Ship Moctezuma [MONTEZUMA] of N. [NEW] Bedford, 5 whales. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 50°=13" -- Long [LONGITUDE] by Chro [CHRONOMETER] 165°=11" East

Friday July 25th All of these 24 hours we have fresh gales from the S &W. Steer by the wind to the W.N.W. Saw nothing. So ends the day. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 50°=49" N Long [LONGITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT] 164°=00"

Saturday July 26th Fore part steer S. Easterly. Wind SW and foggy. Latter part steer Westerly. Latt [LATITUDE] Obs [OBSERVATION] 50=45" N Long [LONGITUDE] by Acct [ACCOUNT] 164=20
