An [Electuarye] very good for the weaknes
of the liver stomack or other partes

Take of the Conserves of wormwood Romaine, of red roses
of damasee roses, of Cowslippes, of Violetts, of Rosemarye
flowers, of Jeliflowers, of each of these one unce, mixe
them all well together, then take the pills of one ourenge
and one lemmon & mince them as smale as possible
then mixe them with the Conserves: but of the pills only
take the yellow & very thinne sliced putt therin halfe a
nutmegge of this electuarye eate as much as a nutt
megge going to bed & risinge in the morninge & a
little fefore dinner & Supper. Mis Elizabeth Gorges.

To make Sweet wasshinge Balles

Take Castell sope & Cutt into smale peeces, the whiche
melte in a Skillett & putt in a stone mater & lett it
Coole. Then beate it very well & putt therin of stonex
of Benjamin of each like quantitye beaten to fine po=
wder & a little muske: olso some rose water & the ince
of some sweet hearbes; as of margerum, lime, & Foxe
with some spices fynely beaten & searced, as Cinamon
nutmegges & Cloves, all these thinges must be added acco=
rdinge to the smell of likinge of the partye that makes
them, when they be well beaten & incorporated together
make them upp in balles, And if you will you may putt
in some Camphire & some doe uppe Venice sope, which
is whiter & sowfter then Castell sope.
{= X} Two spetiall proved Waters for the
stone, or a bloudy Water Coming therby

1. When the beane Coddes are greene take out the beanes, And then still
thes greene Coddes, And of that Water so stilled, take six sponefulls
at a time, And slice a littell nutmegge into It, And drincke yt
in the morninge, and as muche more in the afternoone at fower of
Clocke, And when you find the paine, then beginne to use It, or
when you doufe It to prevent It, And use It a weeke togither,
2. Take hawses when they beginne to turne Redde, And stille them
And when you find paine to beginne, of that water drinckes
morninge, and in the afternoones six sponefulls at a time, And
use It two or three dayes togither or as you find your payne to

An other very good medicen for the Acne

Take Raddishe rootes at the first Comynge and slice them, and
putt them into a double glasse then putt them to them a good
quantity of fine barbary suger, And stoppe the mouthe of the
glasse very Close and hange It in Runnynge water untill it bee att
disolved into wafer, then powre it out, And keepe it for your
use, takinge a sponefull of it at one time in the morninge, And soe
use to take It as you have occasion,

A receipte to Cure sore eyes that are
trobled with a hotte flux of Rume wherby
many are muche bleare eyed,

Take a pinte of white wine halfe a pint of Redde rose water and
halfe a pinte of Smithes water, putt them in a Chafer, and then
putt therto halfe an Ounce of humathe beinge brused, two penny
worthe of tutty powder, a handfull of house leeke picked and
washed very Cleane, two handfulls of yellowe docke leaves Rootes
Rose leaves, stire them all togither, And sett them upon a softe
fier, Then take a very Cleane sticke, and sett It upright therin
And notche it in three severall places that you may knowe when
the third parte is Consumed away, then streine it into a bason
throughe a thinne Clothe, And when it is Coulde Colde putt
it into a glasse groundes and all, When you have Cause to
{Use} it, power a little out into a sawcer and with a Cleane Ragge
washe your eyes, And if they be very hotte, wett your Clothe
wett and lay upon them When you goe to sleepe, And it will
both Coole and Close uppe the Corners and take away the rednes,
If you have occasion to make this in the winter you make may
take dried redde rose leaves,

for the paine in the backe and kidnies
Take a quarte of muscadine, a handfull of the toppes of rosemary
a handfull of the toppes of mother time, some bittoney, some Comfery
a great nutmegge grated two of the largest maces, six Cloves boyle them
altogither, and when they are boyled, streyne them twice to the
ende it should bee the Cleaner, Then take the yolkes of twoe
new laid egges, and make a Candell of It, puttinge therto A
quarter of a pound of Refined suger, and halfe a pinte of the
best Rose water, And drinke five sponefulls of It morninge
and eveninge,
for fleame and winde.
Take scabias, bittony, fennell, parsely Rootes, sloppe, maydenheare
organe, of eche a handfull, elesimipane Rootes, anny seedes,
sweete fenell seedes, of eche one ounce, An onyon pilled, Reysons
of the Sonne the stones take out two ounces, bruse them well
and boyle them in a quarte of water till the halfe bee
Confirmed, and then streine it out very hard and putt until It
viniger, hony of eache a like then boyle It and in the boylinge
scinne It as any Scimme doth Rise, and putt until It two drames
of safforne grosely beaten a quarter of an hower after it hath
boyled, And soe drincke therof when you find your selfe itt,
A good medicine for the Consumption of the
longes of shortnes of breath

Take A Tost of good fine breade & tost it not over browne
& then spred it on both sides with pure honney. then putt
the sayd tost into a drawfte of good beare not over stronge
& eate the tost & then drinke the beare & doe this everye
(or most) morninges & it will restore much breath & Cure the
Consumption, if it be not to far past.
