for an Ague 6

A good hand full of dandy Lyon bruse it in a pynt of small
bear all night ad there to A spoonfull of venice or London treacle
take it on your well day twice or thrice takinge will not fayle

Another to bee taken at the third fit if it donot take away
your ague at the first takinge you may bee confident of yr 2d

Take A quarter of A pint of anniseed water; & the Juce of halfe
a lemon drinke it of when the fitt beegins to com; & cover your
seluv warme probatum:

To breake any stone in the body

Drinke everie morninge A sacke glasse of the bleedinge of the birch
It is thus procured cut a twig of the birch trie & ty A bottle
there to with a peece of lether to keepe out the aire it will quic
ly fill with the water; & use this till you find ease; Tye your
glass to another twigg & put the cut twigg in to the glasse

To take away the paine & blunesse of A bruse

Accordinge to the bignesse of the bruise take 2 double clothes of
linnin quilte lay sallt in them; & havinge seething water by
put the quilts in; & apply them alternis licibus as hot as you
can in dure.

An approved medicion for an Ague

Take of the thick skin being the inward part of A hens or cappons
gizard & carry it in your pocket till it be dry then make it in
to verie fine pouder; & take the weight of a french crowne;
that which hath the crosse on it; then take the like weight of
the pouder of ginger; dievide the severall powders in to 3 Equall
parts; & take A third part of each a litle before your fitt;
havinge fasted 2 houres before & eatinge nothinge before
the fitt
Before you have takne these three portions ti pro bable
you may lose your Ague
