a course Canvas cloth, & so keep it in some clean vessel
w ch w n y w do use, y w must melt in a saucer, or some
other thing, & lay on ye burnt place w th a feather.

{1}For ye head-ach. The iuice of ground-Ivy, snuft up into ye
nose out of a spoon or saucer, purgeth ye head marvelously,
& takes away ye greatest & oldest pain thereof that is. This
medicine is worth Gold, though very cheap. I have known
(s th ye Author) them y t have had marvellous pains in their
heads for ye space of 12 years, & this helpt them p sently,
& never had ye pain since they took it.

{2}If yeLeaves of Eldern, first made hot between two tiles
tile-stones, & then applied hot to ye forehead & temples, if
any pain lye thereof, it helpeth marvelously. p ved.

{3}The iuice of Coleworts put or snuft into ye nostrills, doth
purge ye head much, & helpeth ye antient pains thereof. p ved.

{4}Take of bay salt stamped by it self, as much Cumin-seed
stamped by itself, as much brown fennell, & then stamp them
alltogether, then w th as much pure vinegar & a little Rose-
water, mix & stir them alltogether in a dish over a chafing-
-dish of hot Coles, & then lay some of ye same hot upon a
Cloth, & apply it to ye hinder part of ye head at night, and
tye it fast thereto y t it fall not away: And so do ye next night,
& so 9 nights together; one after another; it will not only
help ye same (p haps at 3 or 4 times using) but also will clear
ye sight & draw ye hum s clear away, y t run out of ye head
into ye eyes, & dry up ye same. This medicine never faills.
