To help a tickling
Cough

Take of the flower of brimstone as much as
will lye on a sixpence and half the Quantity
quantity of Benjamine in powder and soop
them of in a reare egge fasting

Likewise take the Syrrup of Horehound
and Maidenhare of each an ounce, syr: of [stechas]
an ounce and halfe, the species called Dicanthos &
Diatragacanth. frig: of each ij dramms mixe them
all well together and take hereof often upon a
liqurish stick of especially fasting

To make a water against
the wind in the stomacke

Take wormwood carduus benedictus & spearmints
of each a pound, of red sage half a pound all fresh
gathered in May is the best time, chopp them back
grossly & steep them in 3 quarts of the best sack
2 days and 2 nights in a pott close covered from anny
Aire. Distill itt in an Ordinary still the first glass
will be the best & strongest which you must use in
extremity the other alsoe will be good upon any
occasion of wind or paine in the Stomark

A most excellent Medicine
for the Wormes which is best to be made
in May

Take a handfull of Lavender Cotton &
maidding tansey & of red win^ce & spearmint
of each a handfull of Savin & Rue one hand-
full a peice chope all these together & boile
them in May butter then putt in a little honey
and peece of bees wax; & sett itt on the fire
againe, & let itt boile, then take itt of and
when itt is allmost cold putt in 4 penniworth
of Allomes beaten to powder & mixe them
together & annoint the child from the whole of
the stomack downe to the Navell Evening &

To open obstructions and to
cure all manner of Wind and soe very
good for the Spleene

Take a pound of horse radishroots & slice them
very thinne & put them into a pott or pipkin with
6 quarts of small Ale, & sett them in the embers
to infuse 12 hours then let them stand & coole soe
bottle them up for the use & drink thereof a pint in
the morning fasting & as much att 4 a clock in the
afternoone luke warme
