Sir
The late Justice Counesbey
is returned from Ireland and yesterday
took his place in the house of Commons
& the discourse is renewed tha he will be one
of the Secretaryes of State
We hear further from Ireland
that since the Prorogeing of the parliament
divers Members peticioned the Lord Livetenant
to come for England to represent the state
of the protestants of that nation

His Excellency replyed they
had done well if they asked leave to come
over to aske the Kings pardon for the
Riotous assemblyes and soe dismissed
him in the Negative -

The London Merchants yesterday
Delivered the house of peers a petition sub
scribed by many hands wherein they set
forth that the Enemye hath taken since the
Warr 150 of their ships value 3 Millions
of Monye and prayed redress thereon
which is referred to a Committee -

Vpon Motion in the Kings
Bench that the Witnesses against Young are
not readye his Tryall is deferred till next
Monday notwithstanding the Escape of Black
head he being in the Indictment with him -

Yesterday one Stafford a Noto
rious high way man was Committed to Newgate

{in the same character to the Imperiall Court his Credentialls being ready to pass
the seales and Mony is ordered to Defray his charges = Dr Slaughter who
has a good Benefice in Cambridgeshire is presented by the Church wardens for
not Religiously observing the publick ffast Dayes = Letters yesterday from Deall say}
