On Holy Monday the 20th of March the bell clock that hung from St. Agustin.

Year 1581

On Tuesday the 11th of April there were two earthquakes: one at night and one in the middle of the day.

On the 8th of May the Judge Alonso de Nahua took a census of the population.

On the 15th of June a notice arrived saying that the wives of two different rulers had died. One of them was married to the king of Castile and the other was married to the Viceroy of this land. There was a fast held in their honor.

On the 24th of June during the holiday of St. John the Baptist, they drowned a Spanish man who was bathing in clear water.

On Monday the 11th of September there was a very strong earthquake during the night.
