Dear Dad:

The kids have all just gone to bed
and I ought to be there too but will talk to you
a, [friend], [man], first. They have been very busy
since supper drawing pictures, & they are real
good for them.

Read your letter this A.M. & glad to hear from you.
Seemed like quite awhile since we'd heard from
you. Thanks for the $5.00 & the map.

Glad you got the oranges. How long was they
on the way? How do they suit you &, [Mrs F? ]? Are they
keeping all right? It's the winding up of winter
oranges, valencias will soon be ready?

That acre outside of Colony, are there oaks
on it so we could pitch out tents under or
near to one? And how about, Water, to drink, etc?
What would you gain by going outside until
fall? [Would ?,] they loan us now enough to build a
$700.00 house on including your work?
