My dear Mrs Graundy:

It has been such a long time
since we seemed to have time to
quietly sit down and write a letter.
I am going to try to do that now.
Don't think your cards, apples,
and, lastly, the sack of nuts have
not been appreciated. I was away
on a hard nursing case when the
apples came. Didn't get many of
them, but knew they were fine
and I think, with much tenderness
of the hands that gathered,
packed and sent them to us
& you served an immediate
answer, but Jessie has been busy
with the children & they haven't
