Newburgh, O March 16, 1893

My dear daughter:

Jennie, I see has left her letter to you for me to finish and I will have to add a few lines in haste, as I am in a hurry, as usual, and so much for one pair of hands to do. It really seems like a long time since we received your last letter, but I, [ ?], you are very busy and if you are only well, we can afford to wait patiently to hear from you. Katie has not yet secured a position, but will attend college until she, [ ?], a physician in Norwalk, I wrote to her to come but, she did not receive it in time and so lost that. She may at, any time, get a place. She got another new, [?], and a pair of shoes last week. The sack is plain black double breasted

Her hand measures 7 inches. I think if you cannot get these articles that she will be obliged to do without for Archie is discouraged at our, [pranks & necessities). I tell him that you and Katie are almost ready to help him and I try to encourage him in that way. He was short of money some weeks ago and he pawned his watch. But he has since redeemed it. Don't say one word about me, [....ding]. These things

Did Archie tell you that he received a letter from, [ ? & ? ], on the 24th of last month? He did and he showed it to me last Sunday night. I would send it to you but he has it locked in his trunk. You would certainly laugh to read it. He says I don't know your address, but I will send the letter to a friend who does and he will send it to you. He wants Archie to write to him but does not give his address and wants him to meet him at the World's Fair of his

your convenience. I don't know where to direct it, but I guess to the hospital, as it is not likely you are at [Mavers ?]. Your loving Mother. Balam wants Archie to come to him and not be a servant any more for other folks. It is a good one for our attorney and Archie is saving it for him.
