My dear daughter:

It seems to be quite a long time
since I last wrote to you and thinking, perhaps,
you would like to receive from me as well as,
[Archie?]. Therefore, since I have insisted upon
his writing or, [J?], he would not, [abide?].
[He?], went away this morning and did not intend
returning until eve. but, soon came back
with your, [Jrostal?], enamoring the sending of the
express package and he will go after, [?], [at?],
[fire?], [oil?], [?], and hopes to find the office open.
Then, I presume it contains many useful things,
as usual. Must I lay them away for you or
could I use them, if necessary? We are all well,
as usual, at, [Jro?], but sickness with, [?],
is very common. Archie was the last to leave
his bed some two weeks ago. He had taken
cold so Dr. H. said and it had, [shown?],
