Dear Sister Edith:

I received your very interesting letter,
also the postal order
for $20. All o.k., which makes
$50. of the $80, as you thought,
[ ?] many thanks for it.
Edith, I asked my contractor
about some of the prices or
material for building. He said
we never get any Oregon Pine
here. All of the flooring in my
house is Georgia pine which
cost $24.00 pr. thousand & for siding,
White wood is used nearly
all together now which cost $28.00
per thousand. Carpenters get 40 cents
an hour & work 8 hours for a
day's work which is their union
