{Benjamin} Green Esqr. of Halifax earnestly Desires us to Deliver
Byfield Hyde's Bond in our Hands, for the {Company} Debt between {John} & {Benjamin}
Green, & Byfield Hyde , as he has Settled all those {Accounts}, with you & others in
England, and was Discharged, you wrote us to Deliver {said} Bond, on Condition
Mr. Hyde could pay his own Bond, & Desired us to Tally with him upon it, we
have done so, poor man, Says he's not able to pay a Farthing, & Desired us
to Acquaint you, that what little he has, will not maintain his Family.
that he finds hard times, or he must Starve, buy if even it falls in his power,
it would be the greatest Satisifaction of anything in the World, to pay the
Same. The poor man is certainly not, nor ever will we fear be able to pay any
thing, & believe it will be best to Give Orders to Deliver his {Company} Bond to
Mr. Green, who we think has a Right to it.

Boston July 13th, 1764,
Sir,
We {Received} your {favor} by Capt. Vaughan with the Goods you
sent, and tho' we were well Supplied, yet we have Taken them, & you will Debit
our {Account} for their {Amount} and by the first Opportunity we shall Ship you the
Oil you Order'd, when we shall write you again. We are now so Stock'd that
have no Occasion to write for Goods, but for Spring if in want, shall Send
you an Order. We are so hurried cant Add, but that we are,

{Gentlemen}
We wrote some time past, since which have none
of your {favours}. We are Sorry we can give you no better {Account} of the fate
of your Provisions, the Beef we have almost Sold, but on Credit, as to the
Pork, we have Sold none, as yet, & have carefully Enquir'd as to the marketts
in West Indies, & find they are well Supplied, that Shipping any there
would be only a further Charge & Loss. We will you may Depend, do the
best we can, will write you further very soon, being now in great Hurry,
that we cant Add, but that we are
