The foregoing Confirm Copy of my last, since w[hi]ch have
none of your fav[ou]rs to Reply to, the Packett is arrived at york, but not a line from
you, at this Juncture should be very Glad to hear from you by all opportu[nit]ys
but hope soon to be favourd with an Acco[un]tt of the Repeal of the oppressive
Stamp Act, w[hi]ch we are fully persuaded if matters are properly stated will
be the Case, & pray God we may soon have the Joyfull news, it will give great
Joy to all America, & I hope we shall be Indulg'd with a free Extensive
Trade. --

Inclos'd you have Bill Lad[in]g & Invo[ice] of oyl, Pott ashes &
whalefins Shipt for my own Acco[un]tt to yo[u]r address on board the Pratt
Jona Freeman Mas[te]r p[e]r Invo[ice] which I hope will arrive safe & meet a
good Markett. I Recommend to you to obtain the best price for these Articles,
forward me Acco[un]tt Sales, & Credit my Acco[un]tt for the neat proceeds, The Pott ashes I
Judge very Good, I pray yo[u]r Care to have it carefully weigh'd, & Beg you
Dispose of it at the lowest Tare; you have Inclos'd a Certifficate form
the Custom House that it is plantation Manufacture, you will please
to observe that the Freight of the whalefins is at 40/, p[e]r Ton. I hope these
articles will meet a good Markett, I doubt not your best Endeavours for my
Interest in all Respects. - - -

Inclos'd you have Henry Atkins Bill of Exchange
on Capt George Olive in my fav[ou]r Value £310 Sterl[in]g. when paid Credit
my Acco[un]tt for the same. - -

I have wrote to Messrs Devonsheir & Reeve of
Bristol to Draw on you for Balla[nce] of my Acco[un]tt. when their Bill appears,
I pray the fav[ou]r you will please duly to honour it, & Charge its amount to my Acco[un]tt.

I am very Sorry to Tell you that Capt Edwards on the Ship
Adventure is not like to obtain a Freight at So. Carolina; Icarcely know
what Directions to Give on the Matter, should I order him to this place,
I have no prospect of Loading him home, that upon the whole I
have no other Reserve but his proceeding to North Carolina &
purchasing a Load of Naval Stores on the Owners Acco[un]tt which is
a poor affair, but I can project nothing better. I have Rec'd a
Letter from Messrs Inglis Lloyd & Co. as also one from Capt
Edwards
Copies of which I now Inclose you, I am very sorry
I can give you no better Acco[un]tt of the Adventure, but there's no
help for it. -

I shall be very Glad of yo[u]r oppinion Respect[in]g
the price of oyl, Pott ashes & whalefins, & Beg you keep me
duly advis'd that I may be able to judge how far to Enter
my Concerns in those Articles. - We are just beginning to
Fit out our whalemen, & I hope shall have good Success.
I suppose you would be fond of a Concern in what oyl
I may purchase, of w[hi]ch shall be Glad to hear. -
