Whalefins are very Scarce & high, very little been Taken
This season, that I think it must be high with you, I shall have a little
to Ship which hope will meet a good markett

Mr {William} Brick for whom I last year sent for some Goods to
you under mark WBK by this {opportunity} sends a small {Invoice} of
Goods to be put up by you and to be sent him in Marshall which
you are safe in Sending, as he is very honest and industrious;
The Goods I sent for him were the first he had, as he was but Just free,
he Serv'd his Time with Mr {Timothy} Newell, he had some Estate left
him by his Father, & for what you send him he will make you timely
pay, that you need not be under any apprehensions about him,
& will of Course send them.

I shall Soon write you again. I have a Con=
=siderable quantity of oyl by me & some Whalefins I am at a loss
how to act, as I know not whether Scott will return, I beleive
shall Frieght part of it I must draw a few Bills on you {which}
I doubt not you will Honour.

which will be Sent you immediately with Some Whalefins.

{Gentlemen}

I wrote you by {Captain} Marshall who sail'd
Yesterday, & has had a fine time off, that I Hope he will have
a safe & quick passage to you, that His Cargo will meet a good
Markett, & wish we may make a profit by oyl this Season, tho'
the price is too high here, yet I am apt to think from the ill
Success of our Whale fishery in general, the price must be
pretty high with you, of which shall be Glad to hear.

I am now to Inform you that I am Loading the
{Brigantine} {Saint} John with oyl & shall Ship some Bone in her to your
address in equal halves with yourselves & myself, & Hope will
meet a good Markett This Vessell is own'd by Mr Briggs Hallowell
I do this to help him, & gave him the preference of my {freight}
as I knew his Connections with you I am now to desire you will
please to make Insurance on her Cargo Viz+
On oyl Whalefins on board the {Brigantine} {Saint} John {Alexander} Smith {Master}
at & from Boston to London £2000 Sterlg
this you will do at the lowest {premium} at least you will Insure
my
