Boston March 22th 1766

Mr. James Bryant

Mr. Reade tells me he is ready to deliver up the Islands,
it is therefore time tobe determined whether you take it or not. had you owned
not depended on your taking it they would have let it. Some time ago, as
Severall people have appeared to hire it. how they are provided for non (illegiable)
say, but taking it for granted from what had passed between you and myself
and W. George. Athought, that you would have hired if prevented our treating with
any other person about it. Your speedy determination about it is requested.

Sir, I received yours of 21 CurthL agreeable to your request
I waited on Mr. Church and ;emdered jo, your propasals which he will not
comply with, says he will pay the 12 he offered for the Silks and 20 for the
gloves if you will give him a full discharge for the Silks otherwise you
may use your pleasure by suing him to a York Court where he is determined to
make his defence, he showed me Mr. Appleton's Letter, dated 29 Aug last.
wherein he says and when we come to settle it amicably and agreeable.
(Mr. Church says) when they did settle their acct. Mr. Appleton only asked
him whether these was any prospect of getting any thing of (illegiable) was
answered none at all for he had nothing to which Mr. Appleton (illegeible)
was sorry for it but never intimated by that he
expected Mr. Church to make it good. he syas the offer he made was for
peace, and more he willnot gill desires nothing but strict justice which
he thinks his offer exceeds. Inclosed return your rect. to him
for thirteen pounds. I am

your requests you have at foot the Certificate of the money paid Mr. George
Rome for the neat proceeds of the sole Leather for your acct , having
