Description

Smilax ornata is a perennial trailing vine in the greenbrier family Smilacaceae. From 1820 to 1910, it was registered in the U.S. Pharmacopoeia as a treatment for syphilis. Aka sarsaparilla, Honduran sarsaparilla, Jamaican sarsaparilla.
