Description

Podophyllum peltatum is a herbaceous perennial in the barberry family Berberidaceae, and all parts of the plant are poisonous, except the ripe fruit. It contain podophyllotoxin (aka podophyllin) and is used as a purgative and as a cytostatic. Aka mayapple, American mandrake, wild mandrake, ground lemon.
