Tenia

OverviewVersions

Description

Three species of parasitic tapeworm infect humans: Taenia saginata, Taenia solium, and Taenia asiatica. Larval cysts of Taenia solium can form in the brain and are a major cause of adult onset seizures in poor countries. Humans get infected by eating raw or undercooked beef or pork.
