Andersonglossum virginianum is an unbranched perennial in the borage family Boraginaceae that was originally classified in genus Cynoglossum (hounds-tongue). Aka southern wild comfrey, blue houndstongue. Symphytum officinale (along with 34 other species of Symphytum) is also known as "comfrey", and was widely used as a traditional medicine.
