We the undersigned William Faden Geographer of the Parish of {Saint} Martin in the Fields in the City and Liberty of Westminster and County of Middlesex on the one part and William Cromwell Teacher of the Navigation in Boston United States of North America on the other part; have thought proper to form an agreement respecting the Construction Engraving and Printing of three [Maps?] forming in the whole a Celestial Planisphere or complete representation of the surface of the Heavens, one of the said Maps extending from each side of the Equinoctial to the Polar Circles is to be constructed acccording to Mercator's principles, the other [true?] comprehending the space within the Polar Circles are to be projected orthographically We therefore agree as follows viz— The abovenamed William Croswell hereby engages to construct the three Maps as above described, on the same scale with the rough plans; The rectilineal map is to contain all the Stars of the first, second and third magnitudes with some of the fourth and the two circular maps are to correspond therewith, likewise to delineate the Constellations properly in each and to deliver the three maps so completed to the said William Faden free of any expence within Six Monts or sooner from the date of this Memorandum together with the a Description of the said Maps to illustrate the use and application thereof and to make over the whole and sale Copyright and Property in [and?] to the said Maps & Description, for the British Dominions, to the abovenamed William Faden, or to his Representation on the following Conditions — First The said William Faden engages to engrave the above three Maps within the space of fifteen months after the delivery of the three finished Drawings with the Description. Secondly The

Secondy the said William Faden further engages to deliver one hundred and eighty Impressions or complete Sets of the aforesaid three maps together with one hundred and eighty copies of the printed Description free of any expence or charge to the said William Croswell or to or to his order in London. his Representation in London. It is also agreed that the above three maps and Descriptions shall be sold at one Guinea per Sets.
