Orders June 3: 1758. By maj (corner of page torn&illegible for next 5 lines) Amherst Commander in Chief (page torn) Majesties Forces, Employed on (page torn) :dition against Cape Briton - (page torn) Major Genrl Amherst having rec (end of tear) his majesty's orders, to Lande the Forces under his Command upon the Island of Cape Briton and to Besiege and attack the Town of Louisbourgh, in Conjunct :on with the Fleet. Brigadier General Lauren[e?] having in conformity to the Kings orders used the utmost dispatch in preparing every thing for that End, the Major General will prosecute it with the utmost Vigour in which he esepects to seconded by the Zeal and Valour of the Troops. His Ma: :jesty and the Nation have their Eyes fix upon the operation of this Grand Fleet, and Army. Their Union, and Mutual good inclination promises success, neither side it is hop'd will be wanting to deserve it.
