Sir

This morning agreeable to {General} Howes
Orders I sent off Two Detachments each of 2 Captains 2 {Subalterns}
4 Sergeants & 65 Rank & file for Silver Bluff & Matthews's Bluff on
Savannah River. {Captain} {Richard} Brown Commands one
& {Captain} John Carraway Smith the Other - in a few day
I shall make you a Monthly Return of the Regiment also
a Return of the Military Stores belong to it.

Camp Orangeburgh 19 {October} 1778

Sir

Inclos'd you have a monthly Return of my
Regiment up to the 16th Instant allso a Return of the
Arms & Accouterments with a Return of the Stores as far
as its in my Power to make it at Presant - one of
the Villians who Rob'd this place is not in goal - if
I am Rightly informed seven more of the same gang
will never do any more Mischief - I have Likewise
Inclos'd the Charge against {Lieutenant} Taggart. I should be
glad you'd lett me know whether the Dochester guard
