About

Records of the Columbian Harmony Cemetery Volumes one to seven.
This project is dedicated to honoring the 37,000 individuals solemnly buried at the Harmony Cemetery between 1828-1960, after which, their grave markers were disposed in the Potomac River in 1960. HASAN (the History, Arts and Science Action Network hasanworldwide.org), the Governments of Maryland and Virginia and the National Harmony Memorial Park are collaborating to erect a monument near the bodies of the 37,000 reinterred individuals. You can read more about the project at http://www.projectharmonycemetery.com. You can also use the contact us form on the page to ask any questions you have about the project. You will be transcribing the names, dates of birth and dates of internment or death of the individuals recorded as being buried in Harmony Cemetery from seven volumes donated to the project by descendent Mr. James Bacon, and, approved by the Publisher, the 1825 founded Columbian Harmony Society. You will transcribe the names taken from the cemetery ledgers and personal site inscriptions made by Paul Sluby and Stanton Wormley for the purpose of placing the names on the Monument to those buried whose Headstones were desecrated in 1960.
