Mrs. J. E. Kirkman was hostess to the H. P.
Garden Club, Feb 22. Minutes of last meeting were
read and approved.

Mrs. Clark reported that the Flower Show Com. was working on
plans for show, but had no definite plans to present.

Mrs. Taylor reported that she had been asked to help move
some of the shrubery from the front to the Hamilton St.
side of Ray St. School, thus beautifying another side of the
school bldg. A motion carried that a member from the
Zoning Com. be invited to come before our Club at next meeting
and explain the plans of the new St. to be opened out to the
High School. The idea being to preserve the lovely row of cedar
trees on each side of Jones St.

After much discussion on efforts to beautify our
school grounds it was moved and carried that $25.00
be appropriated from our treasury to be used by the School
Grounds Com. as they deem wise in beautyfying the S. grounds
especially Oak Hill & [Mechanicsville].

The treasurer reported that the State dues ($2.50) had
been paid to Mrs. Tate, State Treasurer. She also mentioned
that fact that not all dues for year had not been paid
and some had not yet paid for luncheon at the State
meeting last fall.

A suggestion was made that some of the School
Grounds Com. meet with Parent-Teachers meeting at
Oak Hill and arouse interect in beautyfying their
