and we have only to regret it cou'd not be finished sooner,
for whatever may have been your flo... sufferings - ours have certainly been greater - With respect to Mr
Vaughan when we remitted him Funds for the Purpose
of satisfying your demand we pointed out no particular
Mode[underlined] of Payment, but as an Agent and Friend expected
he would obtain for us the most favourable terms he
cou'd consistently with Justice-This is all we
wished or asked, and is we conceive no more than we
were entitled to-any thing further we can view
only as a matter of negotiation or convention between you
& him.
