Thursday morning
Dear Kids _
Just got up + am still about half asleep but had you on my mind so thought I would drop you a few lines as this is Thanksgiving. We don't know it is a holiday because we carry on just the same as any other day. What does G. W. want for Xmas? I am going to send you the money to get the boys something because toys are too big to try to send. Guess I'll have to send things about the first of the month to be sure you get them in time.
Well I am not getting transferred. My supply clerk is leaving Sat. for Esler Field, La. I'm not sorry that I didn't get that place.

I understand that Headquarters said they were not releasing me from this field. So it looks as if I am here for the duration and six months. I guess is is alright for I do know where I set here. I get by with murder. I even tell my supply officer what to do. She doesn't like it too well but there's nothing she can do about it. Guess I better get busy as I have got a detail coming over this mrning to set up a barracks. By that I mean move in + set up the beds + foot lockers. Take care of my boys + tell G. W. "Howdy."
