One word as regard
to the received text
must be said
whatever its imperfections
may be, it will be
found by any one
who takes the trouble
to make a tabulation
that it is nearer the
text of Hippolytus than
those of x, c or a
Sahadic, Bohairic or
Syriac or Gigas or
Primasius, Tyconius
or Cyprian. We
have been told that
we must not compare
with the Textus Receptus
but with some other more
reliable standard, as if
one could find a more
reliable standard. Each
of us ought to use one com-
mon standard for all our
comparisons & that standard
in use for over 350 years
is Stephens edition of 1550.
