It would be difficult to construct a discourse containing any element of scriptural truth, which should have less connection with the passage on which it purported to be founded, than the foregoing. How could the author so entirely keep out of view, the point of the text, and the rich array of pre cious truths clustering around it! He denounces in no mitigated terms, 'per verse interpretations of scripture" How much less culpable is it -, to ignore its specific doctrines? Better to get all you can from the Bible, than to get nothing at all
