It has been cloudy today. I have ironed some today but didn't get through and have done the general house work.

January 8th
1936 Wed.
It rained some today & has been cloudy. I wrote a letter to Alyene Rogers tonight. I wrote a card to mother today. I finished ironing, done the general house work and made a pillow slip. I broke the machine needle today.

January 9th
1936 Thu.
The sun has been shining most of the day. I churned, washed a few pieces, got dinner and moped [mopped]the dining room, kitchen & porch. I pieced some on my tie quilt tonight. I read some today.

January 10th
1936 Fri.
It has been cloudy nearly all day. I washed some flour sacks, ironed a few pieces, cleaned up the house & got dinner. Rex & Mrs. [inst] Slaton went to Mr. Press Ross funeral this afternoon & Sis wen't [went] to a teacher's meeting & I went to Jim's aunt Ida. Slaton died about 2:30 o'clock this afternoon Sis, Rex Amelia, Evelyn & Joseph wen't [went] over to William's tonight. I got a letter (note text) from mother today.
