Bruno Richard Hauptmann was executed tonight for the Lindbergh baby murder - a crime he refused to the end to admit he was pronounced dead at 8:47:30pm, after three shocks in the electric chair in the gloomy, stone prison where he so long had been kept alive through a series of extrodinary and startling developments.
