Quaker Oats Muffins

(copied from Florence's old manuscripts)
2/3 c. uncooked Quaker oats
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. scalded milk
1 egg
4 tsp. bak. powder
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp sugar
Turn scalded milk on Quaker
oats and let stand 5 minutes
Add sugar, salt + melted butter.
Sift in flour + baking
powder.
Mix thoroughly + add well
beaten egg.
Bake in buttered gem pans.
