New York Butter Cakes

(Note: This is the last of a 2 -yr
season of Broadcasts by Pillsbury
Flour Mills Co. Minneapolis)

Makes 18-24
Sift together
3 1/4 c flour
1/2 tsp soda
1 " salt
4 " bak powder

To
1 egg yolk slightly beaten
Add 1 1/2 c butter milk
1 T melted butter

Combne the two mixtures to
make a soft dough.
Turn onto slightly floured
board. Pat to 1/4 in thickness.
Cut into rounds + Bake
on greased hot griddle.

Note: Called butter cakes, although
little butter is used in
