Lemon Water Ice.

4 lemons (1 cup juice) 1 orange, 1 qt. water
1 lb. sugar. Boil sugar and water.
Shave rind from half of the lemons
and the orange and add to the syrup.
Boil 5 minutes and cool. Add the juice
of the lemons and oranges. Strain.
Freeze in the usual way. 1 spoonful
gelatine soaked and added to the syrup
prevents its meetin so easily.
May be converted into a sherbet by
adding the well beaten whites of 4 eggs
when half frozen.
