Spiced Figs - [[Sunset]] Feb. [19]40.
3 cups dried black figs
2 cups water
1 ½ cups vinegar
3 cups brown sugar
3 - 3 inch sticks of cinnamon
Whole cloves
Rinse the figs off & stick 2 whole
cloves into each. Combine remain-
ing ingredients & bring to a boil.
Add figs & simmer until the
fruit is tender & the syrup is
slightly thickened. Cool the figs
in the syrup. To serve, drain &
remove the cloves.
