Orange Bread5 loaves

Beat 5 eggs well, add 1 cup sweet
milk, then stir this liquid
mixture into this dry mixture
slowly. Have 8 cups sifted
flour to which you have
added 6 level tsp. baking
powder; 1 cup sugar; 1 tsp. salt.
Sift all these again, then
prepare this orange peel,
remove the skin from
about 2 dozen oranges,
wash and remove white
membrane. Cook 20 min.
in salted boiling water.
Drain and rinse thoroly,
next you make a syrup
of 2 cups sugar and 2 cups
water, cook together for
about 5 mins., then add drained
orange peel and let boil
another 5 minutes, then cool,
cut orange peel into fine
shreds and put back
into syrup and add this
to the orange bread. Bake
in a moderate oven
375°F for 45 to 50 minutes.
5 medium sized loaves.
