Voucher 9. Tho. B. Henley - Hunter - $250-
Explanation same as to Vr. 27, 1 qr. '58.

Voucher 12 N. Reynolds & Co. - Flour &c $13.64
The oats was for forage for
the horses, and the flour for the use
of the men taking care of Government
cattle at Point Reyes. These were cattle
purchased for the N. Lackee Reservation,
and were afterwards removed there.

Voucher 13. A. Delano. Horse & Buggy hire - $40-
Mr. Delano was Special Agent
to Nevada Indians. A disturbance occurred
between the Indians and the whites, and the
extermination of the latter threatened. It
was necessary for him to visit the scene
of the difficulty (Pen Valley) a distance of
of some 20 miles. The horse & buggy hire
was for this duty. The price was in accor-
-dance with the rates of the country. He
received no compensation for services, except
when absent from home on duty. See remarks
to Vr. 1- 1 qr '58.
