State of California Fresno County

For and in consideration of the Sum of One thousand fifty eight dollars and thirty three cents ($1058.33/100) to me paid by George Greiersen of the State and County aforesaid, I M. B. Lewis of the same State and County, have sold, and by these presence do, transfer unto the said Geo Greiersen aforesaid, all of my right and interest, in and to Eight and one half months Salary, due me for Service rendered Fresno Indian Agency commencing the first day of July 1860, and ending the 15th day of March 1861 inclusive, amounting to the aforesaid sum, of One thousand fifty eight dollars and thirty three cents ($1058.33/100) as shown by refference to voucher number Seven (7) quarter ending 30th September 1860, Voucher number Seven (7) quarter ending 31st December 1860, and voucher number Seven (7) quarter ending 31st March 1861, (to 15th March 1861) which vouchers aforesaid is receipted & certifified to by me as Sub Ind Agt & now on file in the Office of Comr Indian Affs Washington &C

State of California County of Fresno

Be it remembered that on this Fourth day of April AD 1863, before me the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for the County of Fresno, [came?] this day M. B. Lewis, to me personally well known to be the individual described in, and whose name is subscribed to the forgoing instrument of writing as a party thereto, and acknowledged to me that he executed the same truly and voluntarily and for the use and purposes therein mentioned.

In testimony whereof I have hereun-to set [my?] hand and affixed my Notarial seal, at my office in the County of Fresno, the day and year first in the certificate mentioned.
