I will expect instruction in regard to
other bids. I think I can do better making
private contracts. If I don't purchase
more very soon, cattle will become
poor & higher. If you think it
best as suggested in a former letter, to
remove from Mendocino to Round
Valley, and abandon the former, I will
make no purchase for that place.

I felt it was important to telegraph
for the balance of the appropriation,
least it might be in time here for
the delivery of the cattle, and thereby
cause disappointment.
