The Nobles & Deputies of the three Chief Colleges,
that Subordinate Cities and Caltelenies did the same.
They were assembled on the Place du Cautre at the Estate of Messire
Jean-François de Melun ,Earl of Beaussart, who served
in the absence of the Duke of Melun Prince d'Epinoi, who, as
Viscount of Ghent, has the right to
carry or have someone of his house carry the great
Standard of Flanders.

R. Recolets, the Pastors & the Clergy of five Churches
Parishes of the City of Ghent, which are the patronage of the Abbey
of St. Peter, Sister of Our Lady, St. Michael, St.
Nicolas, of St. Jacques, & St. Martin: Then the Religious
of the Abbey in Chaps accompanied by their Magistrate, & accompanied by
the Abbot of Fenaeme (who, because of the indisposition of
the named abbot of St. Peter, only because he was not
confirmed yet not mitred, was required to sing the Mass,
& to do the other duties) of the Abbot of Oudenbourg near
Bruges, as Assistant; from Abbé St. Adrien to Grand-
mount, as Deacon; of the Abbot of St. Andrew near Bruges,
as Soû-Deacon, all of the Order of St. Benoist in
Pontifical vestments with the Cross & the Miter, came processionally
at the sound of the bells with the Relics of the Ste. Cross who
were carried by the Aboriginals' sister, to take His Ex
cellence at his apartment. On leaving she went on her knees
on a tile & received the Relics, which were preferred to him
to kiss by the Abbot of Fenaeme saying the following words:
HOC IS VERUM LIGNUM SANCTISSIMAE CRUCIS. After that,
we began the march by the great door of the Abbey, by the
Stal-Hof, by the plain of Mont-Blandin, where different bodies of
Cavalry, Dragons, and Infantry were ranged, & by
Notre Dame to the Abbey Church of St. Pierre.

Deputies of the three Chiefs-Colleges; the Handlebar of the Province
accompanied by the Beers; the noble ones; the deputies of the clergy; the
Prelates, the bishops; the five Kings of Weapons, & Messire Philippe-
François de Fourneau Count of Cruyckenbourg, who as a
Lord of there Terre de Vichte is Hereditary Marshal of Flanders
wearing the Nue Sword, named Estoc, all walked on foot,
each one chooses his rank. The servants of His Excellency the
followed in line two by two; then R. Recolets, the priests with
the Clergy of the five parishes & religious of the Abbey, who
