This deed of Emancipation made
and entered into this Sixth day of February
in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and fifty eight, between Henry P. Poindexter
of the County of Henrico of the first part Witnesseth:
that whereas the said Archie Warren is now
the Slave of the said Henry P. Poindexter and
he desires in consideration of his faithful services
and excellant character to liberate him from
Slavery. Now therefore the said Henry P. Poindexter
doth by these presents forever manumit, emancipate
and set from Slavery the said Archie
Warren, who is a black man, about fifty five
years of age, five feet ten inches high, and do hereby
invest him with all the right and privileges
of a free man. In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this Sixth day
of February 1858.

In the office of the Court of Hustings
for the said City, the 8th day of February
1858. This deed was acknowledged by H. P. Poindexter
a party thereto, and admitted to record at
half past eleven o'clock: A.M.
