I wish you could take
a glance at our boarding
house table, I never saw
such a lot of slicks
since I was home.

We have several medical
students, some lovely damsels
of uncertain age, a
very decidedly old maidish
bachelor (I was just going
to spell it batchelor,
after the famous coast)

Then there is a very lean
lanky sad eyed youth
who looks to be dieing of
melancholia and
who never utters a sound
except ("Pass the butter")
in a terrible stage whisper
